The first version of RandomYV is live.

The idea behind it is a small one. You already subscribed to channels you like. You do not need another feed telling you what is popular; you need one of those channels’ videos that you have not watched yet.

What it does. Connect your YouTube account and RandomYV reads your subscriptions and lists them. You choose which channels to add — a subscription list built up over ten years is not the same thing as what you want to watch tonight. From then on you get one video at a time, with two buttons under it:

• Watch opens it on YouTube and marks it watched, so it does not come back.
• Next gives you a different one.

That is the whole app. No feed, no ranking, no recommendations from channels you never asked about.

Why one video and not a list. A list asks you to choose, and choosing is the part that eats the evening — you scroll, you weigh options, and half an hour later you have watched nothing. One suggestion with a Next button asks a much smaller question: yes or no.
